David tasks LOC on adequate security

Worried by the state of security in the country in recent times, the Benue State Director of Sports, Orngu David has called on the Local
Organizing Committee (LOC) of the National Sports Festival (NSF) to ensure the provision of adequate security during the games.
Speaking recently on the level of preparedness of the state ahead Nigeria's most prestigious sports competition, David said though Lagos have been primed to host the most glamorous festival of all times, if not taken seriously traits of insecurity can hamper the smooth progress of events when the hostilities gets underway.

“My expectations for the organizers of the event are to first and foremost provide adequate security throughout the duration of the festival. They will also be expected to ensure that we experience smooth flow of traffic, that is by having a good control of transportation,”
He revealed that Benue State’s athletes were training hard to win laurels in Lagos, adding that what would “make the difference for the average athlete is when his efforts are rewarded with a prize.
“We have taken care of all their needs, including making provision to cushion the effects of any injuries because we know that physical activities attract injuries. Our athletes are no exceptions.”
