According to a report by PUNCH, Oscar winning  actor, Denzel Washington, is expected to arrive in Nigeria this week to take part in the shooting of Spider Basket, a new movie funded by Nigerian businessman, Dennis Osadebe.
Osadebe himself arrived in Nigeria from his base in Turkey last Friday in company with his Turkish partner, Abdulkadir Erkahraman.
Osadebe’s decision to invest in the entertainment industry appears driven by his faith in the abundant talents in the country. “Denzel is just one of many Hollywood stars that I want to witness the talents in this country and to impact significantly on Nollywood. Others are coming. My secaond movie, By Fire by Force, is due to be premiered this month,” he says.
And we all know, that the renown 57 year old actor never associates with mediocrity, I'm certainly on the look out for this movie.

Last night, Chris Brown pulled off a super-performance at Eko Hotel, Lagos on the final leg of his worldwide Carpe Diem Tour.  During the show, he brought the homie Wizkid on stage for a performance of Azonto and Samba. Watch that bit below.

The bus load of travelers is said to have collided into another vehicle,veering off the road and killing all on board.
There were no survivors.

An MDB reader just sent me the picture above, of Chris Brown as he arrived at the airport. The controversial singer is in Nigeria for a concert which holds at the Expo center of the Eko hotels tonight.
And oh, the gate fee is just N15,000...lol.

Have you ever heard of a condition called  Cryptophthalmia?
It is a rare congenital anomaly in which the skin is continuous over the eyeball with absence of eyelids.
Ten-month-old Liaoliao was born with this rare condition.  After an operation on her right eye, Liaoliao's family hopes she will soon be able to see the world for the first time.



When Liaoliao was born this February, her family faced the shocking news that her eyes were covered with skin, and she had no eyelashes or eyebrows. the family was however  apprehensive about sharing the news of Liaoliao's condition with their neighbors in their village in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, for fear of being ostracized informally.
However, her family soon realized that Liaoliao could interpret light. She would always face the sun when taken outside and rubbed her eye sockets when the indoor lights were turned on.
With a glimmer of hope, Liaoliao's family turned to the Xiamen Eye Center of Xiamen University, which had experience with cases of this kind dating back to 2007.
After an operation on November 23, Liu Zuguo, director of the Xiamen Eye Center said that at present, Liaoliao's muscles are unable to support her eyelids while certain components within her eye have not formed fully. Therefore, the next operation will focus upon improving Liaoliao's visual recovery.
Just over a hundred people worldwide are born with the condition where skin covers their eyeballs and the success rate for treatment is extremely low.
Cryptophthalmia is associated with  other multiple malformations collectively referred to as  Fraser Syndrome.

HHW: You heard, you saw the tweets?
Iyanya: Yeah I saw the tweets. First of all I need people to understand that blogs will write they have to write so they can get hits. There’s a price to pay for fame. People have access to you, they can say anything about you. But I just want people to know, before they say a word, do not forget that I have not said anything. I have not told you that I’m dating A or dating B. On this interview, I repeat that I am a single guy married to my music and my hustle. I’m too young for all that, I’m just young and getting it right now.
I remember very well that I made it clear that I’m friends with these mentioned people. I am not dating anybody, and I am not dating anybody as we speak. If you check my tweets, my TL, you’ll see that I refused to say anything about it o reply. I appreciate all the love that I get, but I just want to say something, most of the things that you see on Twitter, Facebook, that you check on blogs and all that. Sometimes, it’s just buzz.

Journalist and Best Of Nollywood Awards executive producer Seun Oloketuyi recently won N1 million for veteran actress Ngozi Nwosu on the celebrity edition of "Who wants to be a millionaire" TV game show. Here is what he has to say about the actress' condition.

Ngozi Nwosu is dying. She has lost it all; weight, strength and vigor but not her talent and deep sense of humor which she displayed during the over one and a half hours we spent together recently. Her emotions ranged from profound despair to occasional outbursts of laughter at her own jokes.When i got a call from the organizers of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire to come play in the special Celebrity Edition last week, I did not know it was the cause of our Dear Ngozi I will be playing for until I got there. The Director revealed this to me few minutes before recording began as Ngozi sauntered in.

One of the first signs that things were no longer right with Ngozi was the fact that we had to delay recording because while everybody else was virtually fanning themselves due to the studio lights, Ngozi was shivering from cold so much that the producers had to get her cardigans. I was flustered.
When the programme eventually got underway, Ngozi still helped to answer some questions. She summoned every ounce of strength in her body to look good for the cameras. Then, it occurred to me that she might be withering, with life slowly ebbing away from her before our very eyes, that acting talent is still intact. As we made our way out of the studio after the recording, she turned to me, despair etched on her brows as her eyes glistened with tears, and said, 

“Seun, do you know I was here (WWTBAM) few years back to play this game for Samanja and I didn’t know that I will be here years later for people to play for me to survive. See life.”

She burst into tears. I fought back tears myself. I had never been so close to crying in a long while but Ngozi’s story will break the steeliest of hearts.

Moments later, we sat down to talk in the ante-room of the studio. Her nurse told me that despite the fact that she has lost half her original weight, she was better than three months back when she could not even get up from bed in her Surulere, Lagos apartment. “Thanks to God and medical attention, she is willing to give living again a chance by fighting,” the nurse said.

When we probed further on what exactly her ailment is, Ngozi wouldn’t say but instead invited me to her home. Last Sunday, I was Ngozi’s guest, where she showed me results of tests stating that she had kidney and heart-related issues. I spent hours in her house as she led me by the hand through the whole gamut of her illness. She told me she decided to divulge everything because of widespread speculation that she was HIV positive. “I don’t have AIDS o,” she declared.
The bottom line now is that Ngozi needs N6m to treat herself abroad. And she needs it fast. Ngozi is willing to live longer but we have to support her.

Word yesterday 22nd December 2012 is that bomb explosions targeted at telecoms offices have been reported in Kano.
Reports have it that a suicide bomber drove a rigged car into the Airtel offices in  Mallam Kato Square in Kano before exploding early this morning.
A second explosion believed to be an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) also exploded at an MTN phone switch center in Mai Mailari area of Kano metropolis a few kilometers apart.
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has confirmed  the attacks on telecom masts belonging to Airtel and MTN in Kano but states that there are no immediate records of human casualty.

In recent time, I have come across  a number of stories about people with abnormalities from China. These stories have made me wonder if has anything to do with the Chinese environment, or perhaps a mere coincidence. Whatever the case maybe, a whole lot of weird things go on in this world....just like the story you're about to read about a teenager who has fangs for teeth.
Wang Pengfei, is a 16 year old Chinese boy who grew two sharp fangs as teeth.

His mum Wang Hui took him to a local hospital for medical tests earlier this week.
The lad, from Chongqing municipality, southwest China, had very little hair at birth - and only grew these two sharp teeth.
His mum says she has tried to get to the bottom of his bizarre canines by visiting various hospitals and specialists with little success.
Docs at South West Hospital now say that her boy will only be eligible for surgery when he is an adult.
The cost for the surgery is estimated at 70,000 to 80,000 Yuan or N1.7 million.
Wang Hui said her son's character has become more and more isolated throughout his teens - and that he attacks classmates who stare at him or whisper about him.
Wang Pengfei is so shy about his condition he even refuses to pose for photos.
His worried mum said: "He has no friends, and has gradually realized he is different from other children.
