Dead child found in canal in lagos

How can anyone do this to a child?

I really battled with myself whether to put this up or not. I've had the photos for a while but it just didn't seem right at first...but someone around me now said it's information and should be passed on. If some of you find it offensive, then I will take it down.

A few weeks back, some people (one of them a T.E reader who sent in the story and photos) saw this beautiful baby stone dead dumped at the canal before UNILAG maingate, at Abule Oja. They alerted the social workers at the Family Welfare Centre at Birrel Sabo, who came immediately and removed the baby from the canal. The T.E reader took some photos and sent to me...he said seeing that dead baby in that canal was the worst thing he had ever seen...and was in shock for days.

It's the saddest thing to see really. A child! Whoever did this, how dare you? Even if the child died at home or something, why not a proper burial? Incredibly sad. If you have stomach to, then see the beautiful baby after the cut...

Dear T.E Readers: My sister's husband wants her to get an abortion

From a LIB reader
Recently My sister's husband asked her to get an abortion and I'm really pissed cause I don't get why he'll even think about it knowing they have just 2 kids(girls) and he's doing great(rich). Would like to know if this is appropriate(right). Why will you ask your wife to get an abortion? And women would you go ahead with it if you are asked?

Israeli Architects Erect Stunning Palace Fit For Kings in Nigeria

The palace was built in Nigeria by Israeli architects Shalom Davidovich and Hanan Peri of PeriDavidovich Architects.

In a piece published by Israeli news site Haaretz, the architects spoke about the features of the palace and the processes in its development.

The team received the invitation from the ‘mogul’ and his wife to prepare a detailed proposal for designing and furnishing a “palace”. At the start, they created a 3-D animation of what the proposed building would look like, both inside and out. Over the course of seven months, they prepared a simulation of all the spaces in the palace down to the lighting, colour of the marble and design of armchairs.

They presented the clip to the client and he and his family gave them a yes.

After six years, the palace is now a reality in Nigeria. It is situated on a 35-dunam (roughly 10-acre) plot near the village of Issele-Uku in the Delta state, and covers an area of 12,000 square meters. These are divided (in the main structure) between a basement, an entrance floor and a residential floor, and among a large number of buildings, including a servants’ house and an entry pavilion used by the security guards.

The architects also noted that the client and his wife already had houses in the cities of Lagos and Abuja in Nigeria, as well as in Europe and the Persian Gulf. The new house is meant to be used for family vacations and on holidays, as well as serving as a luxurious residence in which to host – and impress – guests.

It boasts of large guest rooms, separated from one another, because he [the owner] likes to maintain distance between the guests; corridors that make it possible to pass among the spaces without being seen; a smoking room and an indoor pool.

The capacious premises also house a cinema, discotheque, hair salon, bowling alley and separate 350-square-meter suites for the couple, as well as a selection of guest suites. It also has its own water-purification system and electrical generator.

There are indications that the police in Lagos have refused to release the corpse of Cynthia Osokogu, the facebook girl murdered by suspected kidnappers in a hotel in Lagos, to her parents for burial.

A decision was later made by the family to give the deceased a ceremonial burial.

Every week, y'all will be getting a recap of the 2012 MTN Project Fame show from the Project Fame Gossip Monger (Not me).  Below is what she has to share with you this week...enjoy!
I hurriedly ran into the E-Centre compound- yes the one at Yaba. I ran stylishly (not wanting people to get the drift) because I was already running late for my movie. And you won’t believe who I saw.
I saw someone who looked like Adetoun from Project Fame and I was going to swear the lady was her twin sister, just then I saw Ayo, Marvellous and the rest and I didn’t know when I asked ‘What is happening here?’

“The MTN Project Fame Contestants came to meet and greet their fans. Isn’t that awesome?” Answered a lady from the bursting crowd.

“Cool” I said trying my best not to  show off my excitement. Unknown to me, the beautiful contestants were having a “meet and greet” session with their fans at the popular hub and since I was a PF faithful myself I decided to stay.

While I was still there trying to play it cool while internally my body was reacting  from the shock of seeing my favorite contestant in person (Wonder who that is. Your guess is as good as mine) I watched the contestants mount the stage one after the other and before I knew what was happening, I had to find a good position because fans and friends were hovering all around for the perfect ‘viewing position’.

WHOA. They sang, some croaked,  some did a little bit of both. Then afterwards, onlookers like me were called to dance on the stage. Did I dance? For where? Will they pay me? But apparently other onlookers didn’t share my sentiments as they mounted the stage and at one point threatened to bring it down with their dance moves. Expectedly some people actually could dance whilst the others  errrrrrmmmm let’s put that in another post.  MTN too was on hand to give the hot steppers and madt (yes!! mad with a t)  movers  gifts for their efforts which made me feel like maybe I too should have mounted that stage *sad face*.

With my hopes for watching a movie totally dashed  I decided  I might as well enjoy myself. Luckily for me just standing there was my FAVORITE  contestant and yes he is a HE…   And so that’s how we got talking about the academy, his expectations, experiences and everything  ( Using skills only a woman knows I was able to get him all to myself without  ‘outside interference’). And at the end of the chat we took pictures. ( Did he take my number? now that’s for me to know and for you to wonder about *kanyeshrug* ) The picture is my screen saver now. *wink wink*.

Guess where I branched shortly after? That MTN shop at E-Centre, you know I had to stack loads of cards to keep my errrmm…contestant in the academy.

Now tell me, who is your favorite contestant? Remember to text their unique number to 306. And in case you don’t have one yet, feel free to vote for mine. Their numbers are on the picture above. Let the best guy/girl win (hopefully my contestant) J.
