Nigerian lady sentenced to 80 years in prison over deaths of toddlers in her care

24 year old Nigerian/American woman, Jessica Tata, was sentenced to 80 years in prison on Monday November 20th after being found guilty of the death of one of four children killed in a fire at her home day care in Houston.

16-month-old Elias Castillo and three other toddlers died after Tata left them unsupervised at her home while she went to a nearby store. Prosecutors say she left a pan of oil cooking atop a stovetop burner and that this ignited the February 2011 blaze. There were 7 children when the fire started, four died, three survived.

Tata still faces three more counts of felony murder in relation to the other children who died, and three counts of abandoning a child and two counts of reckless injury to a child in relation to three who were hurt. So she will be getting more years added to the 80 as other cases come up.

I'm sorry to say this, but I think she deserves the sentence! How the heck are you going to leave 1year olds unsupervised?

Karrueche taunts Rihanna over Chris Brown photo

These two girls are still at it. Chris Brown must be really good in bed...cos I don't see why else they want to die there...hehe! Anyway, over the weekend Rihanna Tweeted a photo of Chris Brown lying in bed with no shirt on...and if Rihanna thought the picture would make Karrueche Tran jealous, Rihanna had another think coming...see Karrueche did...

Shortly after Rihanna posted the pic, Karruehe Tran 'liked' the photo on Instagram letting Rihanna know that she and Chris Brown still get it in.

And of course Rihanna wasn't going to let that slide and Tweeted 'Bitch don't kill my vibe' shortly after Karruche's stunt.

These girls need to quit!

Oh dear, Gabriel Aubry was really battered! Gets restraining order

According to TMZ, Halle Berry's ex Gabriel Aubry has obtained a restraining order against her fiance Olivier Martinez, who busted his face during a brutal brawl on Thanksgiving ... and Gabriel's declaration (which includes graphic photos of his injuries) paints a radically different picture of what went down at Halle's on Thursday.

According to Gabriel's declaration, the day before Thanksgiving, Gabriel took Nahla to her school play.  Halle and Olivier showed up and Olivier walked up to Gabriel and whispered in his ear in French, "I wish I could beat the s**t out of you right now. You're lucky we're in a school right now. We're going to take Nahla right now and you're not going to follow us."

The next day, Gabriel says he took Nahla to Halle's at around 10 AM.  He says in a completely unusual move, Olivier came out of the front door -- usually the nanny was the go-between.  Gabriel claims Olivier said, "We need to talk." Gabriel says he walked toward his car to close his door when Olivier jumped off the stairs and knocked Gabriel to the ground and started brutally beating him, screaming that Gabriel cost them $3 million to fight the custody war (Halle's failed move to take Nahla to Paris).
Gabriel says Olivier took his head in his hand and slammed it on the concrete driveway.
According to the declaration, as Olivier assaulted Gabriel he screamed that they were going to move to Paris and Gabriel had better move there too or Olivier would kill him.
Gabriel claims Olivier then said, "We called the cops," and that when they show up, "you're going to tell them that you're the one who attacked me, or I'm going to kill you."
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Gabriel made no mention of the alleged threats when he spoke to police immediately after the fight.
Gabriel alleges in his declaration that Halle lost her bid to get primary custody with the judge consistently siding with Gabriel for a 50/50 arrangement.
Gabriel's lawyer attached photos of his injuries which are brutal. Sources on Halle's side claim it was Gabriel who flew off the handle and started the fight.

Rumor: Ashlee Simpson & Vincent Piazza Call It Quits

It’s no secret that showbiz takes a serious toll on relationships, and the latest Tinseltown twosome to call it quits is rumored to be Ashlee Simpson and Vincent Piazza.
According to an inside source the “Pieces of Me” songstress and her “Boardwalk Empire” stud just couldn’t keep it together with their crazy careers.
"Vincent has been working a lot, so he hasn't been able to spend as much time with Ashlee, which has caused some problems. It was a mutual agreement to split, but things have been bumpy for a little while, so perhaps they might reconcile."
Additionally, Piazza was possibly put off by all the intrusion into his private life. At the inception of the relationship in June of 2011, he told press, "I'm a real low profile guy. So a date night for me is kind of curled up at home and watching something... have a nice glass of wine, a nice meal, and we're all set.”

Delta and KLM sued over 'too fat to fly' Vilma Soltesz

A Delta Airlines worker loads food onto a plane last week
Delta Airlines says its staff spent an hour trying to get Mrs Soltesz on board

husband of a US woman who was too big to be flown home from Europe - where she later died - is to sue the airlines involved for damages.
Vilma Soltesz, who weighed about 30st (193kg), was refused a place on two flights in October.
She died of kidney failure before a suitable flight could be found, after refusing treatment from local doctors.
Delta Airlines said every effort was made to accommodate her but it had been "physically unable" to get her aboard.
But Peter Ronai, the lawyer acting for her husband, Janos, told CBS: "They [the airlines] took on the responsibility to get her to Hungary, it's their responsibility to get her back."
Mrs Soltesz needed to return to New York from her holiday home in Hungary to resume medical treatment.
She suffered from kidney disease and diabetes and reportedly "did not trust" Hungarian doctors.
But the Dutch airline KLM was unable to get her on board a flight on which she had booked two seats to accommodate her.
She was then told to drive to Prague in the Czech Republic where she would be given seats on a larger Delta Airlines flight.
But, according to Mr Ronai, she was unable to be belted into that plane and "the captain came out of the cockpit and made her get off".
Mrs Soltesz died of kidney failure before an alternative flight could be found.
In a statement Delta Airlines and KLM said they had done everything possible to assist the family.
"Our records indicate Delta staff in Prague made repeated attempts for nearly an hour to board the customer, but they were unable to get her onboard the aircraft," Delta claimed.
Mr Soltesz is seeking $6m (£3.7m; 4.6m euros) in damages from Delta and KLM.

Kabul Bank fraud profited elite, leaked audit says

Afghans walk past a branch of the Kabul Bank (file photo)
Investors withdrew their savings amid claims of corruption and mismanagement

Afghanistan's failed Kabul Bank was involved in a fraud that funnelled almost $900m into the pockets of a small number of the political elite, an independent auditors' report says.
One of President Hamid Karzai's brothers, Mahmoud, is said to be a beneficiary. He denies any wrongdoing.
Details of the audit were revealed in a leaked report seen by the New York Times newspaper.
Revelations of corruption led to a run on the bank in 2010.
Foreign donors bailed it out fearing its failure could lead to the collapse of Afghanistan's fragile economy.
But according to the report by Kroll Associates, when the bank's assets were seized, the vast majority of its loans - almost $900m (£561m) - were made to just 19 people and companies.
Investigators from Kroll found 114 rubber stamps for fake companies used to give forged documents a more legitimate look, the Times reported.
Among those who benefited from illegal loans was Mahmoud Karzai, the report says. However, he has always denied any wrongdoing and says he has repaid all of the cash.
He told the BBC: "If they have one iota of evidence, Kroll or anybody... that I gave a signature of mine anywhere in the Kabul Bank decision making, that I have taken a dollar in misused... or hidden the money, I am challenging anyone in the world to come up with that and I will take full responsibility."
Asked if he regretted his involvement in Kabul Bank, he said: "Absolutely. I think it was the worst mistake I ever made in my life."
There is no indication in the 277-page audit report that President Karzai benefited from the fraud.
The BBC's Quentin Sommerville in Kabul says little of the stolen funds is ever likely to be recovered.
However, he says that with so much foreign money continuing to flow through Afghanistan's fragile financial system, experts fear a similar crime could be possible again.
Kabul Bank's founder and its former chairman Sherkhan Farnood and ex-CEO Khalilullah Ferozi are among several people charged in connection with the bank's collapse.
Western countries demanded the forensic audit along with another report, due later this week, by an Afghanistan-based anti-corruption watchdog.
The US and its allies have also threatened to cut legal aid to Afghanistan unless legal action is taken against those responsible.
